personality

Strengths:
Prompto is a constantly cheerful individual, full of smiles and laughs. It’s one of the biggest things people notice about him. No matter who might be feeling down or out, Prompto’s there with his smile, a joke or two to lighten up the mood immediately. His hobbies fit into this too, as he wants to take pictures to keep up the memories for the entire group. With these pictures, it seems to brighten up everyone’s day. He even lets most jokes roll off his back, without putting up too much of a fight against them. A light complaint, but he never really tells anyone to stop. In exchange, however, he can tease right back.
When Ignis loses his eyesight, Prompto is the one who immediately helps him out. He’s on the job immediately. When he stumbles, Prompto is the first one beside him to help him get back on his feet. He does it without a second thought too, just staying right by his side, making sure he continues walking properly. It fits into his cheerfulness too, when someone is struggling, he’s the first one there with a smile, a joke, and trying to make sure they all get along again.
To Noctis, Prompto is incredible loyal. No matter what happens, he stays besides Noctis’s side. He even got some combatant training for the sake of being by Noctis’s side. There’s not the same sort of loyalty to the other two that he has towards Noctis, but there’s more of a brotherhood there. He cares both about Gladiolus and Ignis, and will certainly do what he can to help him out, but Noctis is something special to him. Noctis was his first friend, the first person who really cared about him, and showed an interest in hanging out with him. As it meant a lot to him, he’d do pretty much anything for the prince.
No matter what happens on their journey, he’s determined to see it through. He refuses to turn back, away from Noctis, away from their journey, for anything. When the going gets tough, he may be nervous at times, but he doesn’t stop. No matter what happens in the end, he’ll be there for him. Even when the group is fighting, or he gets kidnapped, he’s not going to stop fighting until the very end. All for the sake of Noctis.
Flaws:
Prompto immediately doesn’t feel like he belongs with the rest of the group. That his talents aren’t as good as other people’s are, and he’s just pulling the rest of the group down with him. It’s something he doesn’t even really express to anyone but Noctis, and that’s only when Noctis prods and pulls it out of him. It’s something he’s incredibly shy about talking about. He’s far more likely to make jokes to cover up any insecurities.
Although he tries to hide it, he comes off as incredibly self-conscious about himself.At this point in the story, he’s not even gathered up the courage to flirt with any of the girls he likes, only talking and daydreaming about it. The way he talks about it, the guys absolutely make fun of him for being overconfident, trying to pick between two girls. But as he’s yet to make a move, it comes off as trying to psych himself up to do it. After he learns the truth about who he is, he needs to be shaken out of a further self-conscious moment by Noctis. It’s hard to pull him out of these moments for anyone, except his best friend.
He’s heavily dependent on others, Noctis in particular. He can’t really cook, he can barely drive (and when he does, he gets distracted easily and crashes), and without certain people pushing him along, he may not even have gotten to where he currently is. After he was kidnapped and taken into the Empire by the main villain, the first thing he cares about when he’s rescued is that Noctis came to rescue him and was worried about him. He doesn’t care that it was Noctis’s fault, through Ardyn, that he got kidnapped in the first place. All he wants is to know Noctis worried about him.
He knows very little about how the outside world works, just like the rest of them. But he’s also incredibly unfamiliar with a lot of things that the others seem to know. He doesn’t know how to cook, or really take care of himself at all, and he needs other people around to do that for him.
Miscellaneous: First things first, Prompto is a massive lover of technology. He carries a camera with him everywhere, and takes all sorts of pictures, especially in battle. There will be pictures taking of everyone and everything.
Also he loves animals a whole bunch. A whole bunch.

game plans

Starting Faction: Empress
Goals: I want to explore playing Prompto in a setting such as this. I kind of want to break him a little bit, but help him grow. Help him work on his flaws and change. The idea of him being here with his friends was incredibly appealing too, but I’m also interested in seeing how he interacts with cross canon people. Overall, I’m just interested in giving him a shot in this place and seeing where things take us.
